Wine Kuglof

  • Fantastic German cake kuglof made of figs and chocolate with the taste of red wine. Ideal cake for Christmas and other holidays. It is easy to prepare and very tasty. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: very easy, total time: 70 min., 10 persons
  • 300 g of sugar

  • 250 g margarine

  • 4 eggs

  • 100 g of chopped dried figs/ or 100 g of raisins

  • 100 g of diced chocolate

  • 200 ml of red mulled wine

  • 300 g of flour

  • 1 bag of baking powder/ 10 g

  • 1 Tablespoon starch

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • powdered sugar for sprinkle

Preparation:
  1. Beat sugar with margarine, add four eggs, one by one.

  2. Add finely chopped dried figs or raisins, diced chocolate and red mulled wine, flour, baking powder, 1 tablespoon of starch and a 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

  3. Mix it all well, pour in a greased and floured mold.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for an 50-60 min., depend on oven.

  5. Sprinkle the finished kuglof with powdered sugar.
