Preparation:
  1. Melt the butter over low heat, then let it cool a little. Lubricate the mold (butter, flour), shake off the excess and put it on the sides.

  2. Beat the eggs with the sugar until it becomes lighter, smooth and foamy. Add the melted butter, vanilla sugar, grated lemon peel and beat with a hand whisk, then pour in the milk. Continue mixing with spatula while adding the flour and baking powder. Beat into a compact mixture without lumps.

  3. Wash and dry the apples, divide them in half, remove the core and cut them into fairly small cubes. Add them to the dough mixture and finally transfer everything to the cake pan.

  4. Bake in heated oven with fan at 180° for 30–35 minutes. The cake is ready when the dough has risen well and is slightly golden on the surface. Test with a toothpick before removing from the oven. If the toothpick is dry, it's done!

  5. Leave the cake to cool completely. After that, sprinkle with powdered sugar, cut into slices and serve.

Buon appetito !
