Simple Stew of Carrots-Vojvodina Style

  • Stewed carrots are an excellent side dish that goes with any meat as an addition, it is prepared easily and quickly. Follow the recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 35 min. 4 serving
  • 500 g of carrots/peeled and cut into thin rings

  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil EVO

  • 1 small onion/ finely chopped

  • 200 ml of water

  • 1 tsp dry spice Vegeta

  • 20 g butter

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • fresh parsley or weed dill to taste / finely chopped

Preparation:
  1. Peel and wash the carrots, then dry them well with kitchen paper.

  2. Cut them diagonally into thin circles, if you want you can also cut them into regular circles without a diagonal, I think it looks better this way.

  3. Chop the onion finely by hand add it in a wok pan, cover it with olive oil.

  4. Heat on moderate heat, stir until it becomes glassy.

  5. Add carrots, Vegeta dry seasoning, a little water and stir. Simmer for about 10 minutes, covered, stirring occasionally.

  6. Add a little water gradually until the carrots are soft. In the meantime, a weed dill or parsley, cook on low to moderate heat. Add water as needed every 10 minutes and stir occasionally.

  7. Five minutes before the end, add a butter, to the carrots and cook until the end.

  8. Turn off the heat and serve as a side dish with other dishes.
