What does sataraš/satarash mean? It is a dish which is prepared in Vojvodina, contains: paprika and tomato oil and eggs, you can also add hot peppers if you like hot, it is very tasty and can be put in a plate as an addition to meat. It is also popular in southerners from Serbia. Great, real summer dish, which can be the main meal, but also as a side dish with meat. Follow recipe.
Ingredients: simple, total time: 35 min. 2 serving
1 onion/ finely chopped
6 fresh paprika/ into larger cubes or strips
1 fresh big tomato/ diced
1 tsp dry hot paprika or 1/2 fresh green pepper
2 clove garlic/ finely chopped
salt and pepper to taste
2 eggs
Preparation:
Peel one large onion and 1/2 a clove of garlic, wash the onion and 6 nice meaty peppers, as well as one larger tomato. First chop the onion and fry in oil until it starts to turn yellow, then finely chop the red pepper, add to fry with onion.
Then chop the garlic and tomato, add to the mass.
Also add spices: pepper, salt and a little dry hot paprika, and let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
When everything is nicely fried, remove the pan from the heat and add 2 eggs and mix well for 3–4 minutes. It can be eaten hot or cold, with bread.
