Quick Turkish Delight from the Microwave

  • A Turkish delicacy lokum that has left its mark in Serbia. Soft, juicy real treat with a morning coffee. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: cup is 250 ml, simple, total time 25 min.
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 4 Tablespoons gelatin

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 3/4 cup density / starch

  • 3–4 drops of red color/can be without

  • 1 Tablespoon rose water/ or vanilla extract

  • Another 2 Tablespoons of density mixed with 2 Tablespoon of powdered sugar for rolling

  • chopped walnuts/ optional

Preparation:
  1. Pour water and gold into a deeper bowl and mix well and put it in the microwave for 7 minutes at the highest temperature.

  2. Remove, stir, and return to the highest temperature for another 7 minutes.

  3. During that time, mix powdered sugar and density and sift.

  4. Take out the bowl and add the density and sugar to it, then mix with a wire and return to the highest temperature for another 6 minutes.

  5. Then add the aroma and color (possibly walnuts) and mix well.

  6. Coat the mold or tray (24 × 15) with oil, then pour the mixture and level it.

  7. Leave for 10 minutes at room temperature to cool and then for 2 hours in the refrigerator.

  8. Cut into cubes and roll in powdered sugar mixed with density. Buon appetito!
