Prebranac Serbian beans Lena
Preparation:
  1. Put the beans in the water overnight to stand.

  2. The next day, drain that water and put new cold water and beans to boil to the boiling point. Then strain the beans, and pour hot water and cook until the beans soften. When the beans have softened, drain them from the water.

  3. Peel an onion and put it in cold water to stand for 10 minutes.

  4. Then cut it into thin rings. Heat one part of the oil in a pan and fry the onion until golden. Add a bacon, a little ground pepper, allspice, and salt.

  5. Grease the pan in which you will bake the beans well, then place a row of beans, a row of fried onions and bacon evenly on the bottom.

  6. Repeat this until you have used up the beans and onions.

  7. Drizzle each row of onions with the remaining oil. The back row must be beans and sausages. On top, put one bay leaf, two cloves of garlic and, if desired, one hot dried pepper, if you want, you can use some others of meat that you like more to combine with this dish together in the oven. Bake at 180 °C for 30–40 minutes.

  8. Serve warm and decorate with parsley leaves.
