Pilaf with Spices

  • Very tasty prepared integral rice with spices and vegetables. Easy to prepare, you only need a couple of groceries. An ideal dish for vegans and those who want to lose weight, very few calories and so delicious. You can combine it with other side dishes or some salad next to it. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 40 min., 2 servings
  • 1/2 cup wholemeal rice/good washed

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

  • 1/2 onion/finely chopped

  • 1/2 stalk celery/finely chopped

  • 1 small carrot/finely chopped

  • 1 small fresh pepper/small cubes

  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/2 Tablespoon chopped rosemary

  • 1/4 teaspoon chopped thyme leaves

  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:
  1. Rinse the rice under running water several times.

  2. Cook whole rice (without salt and fat) in twice as much water.

  3. While the rice is cooking over medium heat, heat the oil and fry the finely chopped onion, celery, carrot, pepper and for 5 minutes.

  4. Remove from the heat and add the parsley and other ingredients.

  5. Add the mixture with vegetables and herbs to the cooked rice or in a deeper bowl, then mix everything well. Serve warm.
