Moussaka

  • Fantastic moussaka originating from Greece, served hot if you haven't tried this dish, here's a recipe for how to prepare it.

Ingredients: baking tray, 20x 35 cm, simple, total time: 4 servings
  • 2 onions/ finely chopped

  • oils as needed

  • 3 smaller zucchini/ into thin slices and rings

  • 5 big potatoes/cut into rings

  • 400 g ground beef

  • salt, pepper, rosemary, oregano to taste

  • 1 tsp dry spice Vegeta

  • 3 eggs

  • 150-200 ml of milk

  • 2 Tbsp Greek yogurt

Preparation:
  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into rings.

  2. Finely chop onions.

  3. In a little oil, add finely chopped onions, simmer until transparent, then add minced meat, stir, season to taste. Cook about 15 min.

  4. Fry the zucchini in a little oil and turn off the heat.

  5. Arrange the potato rings into a baking dish, season with salt and black pepper.

  6. Pour filling of minced meat season it, then arrange zucchini and season with salt and pepper.

  7. Repeat until you run out of material, leaving one row of potatoes for the top.

  8. Beat 2 eggs, milk, yogurt and pour over the potatoes and meat.

  9. Shake the pan so that the dressing can get into all the ingredients.

  10. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven, turn on at 200 °C, both heaters equally.

  11. Bake until the golden brown color crust is caught on top and the liquid evaporates. Turn off the oven.

  12. After baking, leave the moussaka in the oven for 15 min. more. Prepare a salad as desired, serve the moussaka.
