Beautiful and delicious kuglof cake made of dried apricots and almonds. It is extremely easy to make and is ideal for Christmas and New Year holidays, as well as others. Follow recipe.
Ingredients: very easy, total time: 70 min., 10 serving
100 g of dried chopped apricots
100 g of coarsely ground almonds
250 ml apricot syrup/150 ml for soaking + brandy
50 ml apricot brandy
250 g margarine or butter
300 g of sugar
5 eggs
350 g of flour
1 bag of baking powder/ 10 g
For Decoration:
200 g of white chocolate
100 ml of sweet sour cream
Leaves or flakes the almonds as desired
Preparation:
Mix chopped dried apricots and coarsely ground almonds and dip them in a little apricot syrup and a little apricot brandy. Leave to stand for 2–3 hours.
Beat one margarine or butter with sugar.
Add the eggs gradually one by one.
When you have mixed it, gradually add flour mixed with baking powder.
Mix everything well, add a little apricot syrup to make the dough smooth.
Arrange a row of dough, apricot and almond filling (dough-filling, dough-filling, dough) in a greased and sprinkled mold.
This kuglof bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 50 min-1 hour.
Control the dough with a toothpick.
When the cake is done, take it out of the oven and leave it to cool a bit. In the meantime, make a glaze for decoration.
For decoration, use white chocolate and sweet sour cream mixed over a moderate heat. If you think the chocolate is thick, add a little more sour cream. Put in a cake syringe and decorate the patterns as you like, then decorate with almond flakes or leaves.
