How to make Eggnog

  • A simple recipe for delicious homemade eggnog, after this recipe you won't have to buy any more products in the store. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 30 min.
  • 6 large egg yolks

  • 100 g granulated sugar

  • 220 ml heavy whipping cream

  • 470 ml of milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • pinch of salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ground cinnamon/ for topping

  • 1 tsp alcohol/ optional — bourbon, brandy

Preparation:
  1. Beat egg yolks and sugar in a deep bowl until light and creamy.

  2. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine cream, milk, nutmeg, and salt. Stir constantly until incorporated.

  3. Add a spoon of hot milk to egg mixture, and stir until combined. Repeat, stirring once more, until eggs are combined.

  4. Remove saucepan from heat and stir until combined, then return to stave.

  5. Whisk constantly for about a minute, until the mixture thickens just a little. It will thicken more as it cools.

  6. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and alcohol, if using.

  7. Pour eggs through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl and cover with plastic wrap.

  8. Refrigerate for 1 hour to chill.

  9. If you want a smooth, completely smooth consistency, you can add the entire mixture to a blender with 1-2 spoons of milk and blend until smooth.

  10. Serve with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg and a dollop of fresh whipped cream if desired.

  • If you need a smaller amount, just reduce the ingredients.
