Gingerbread Fasting

  • They are made on the eve of New Year holidays and Christmas holidays. It is typically flavored with ginger, cloves, nutmeg, or cinnamon and sweetened with honey, sugar, or molasses. Fantastic cookies that are quick, real, tasty! Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 15 min. 20 cookies
  • 200 g flour

  • 200 g sugar

  • 50 g powdered sugar

  • 50 g ground walnuts

  • 2-3 Tablespoons honey

  • 1 lemon juice

  • a little baking soda, cinnamon, vanilla, water as needed

Preparation:
  1. Squeeze the juice from the lemon and grate the peel.

  2. Sift the flour and all the powder ingredients, then add ground walnuts, honey, lemon peel, lemon juice knead the dough, into a smooth mass with adding water as needed, leave the dough to rest for 30 minutes.

  3. Then hand it out on a mixing board, stretch it with a rolling pin to about 1 cm thick, then take out the cakes with a mold.

  4. Arrange them in a pan and bake.

  5. Make a thick syrup from water, sugar, and vanilla and pour it over the baked cakes, then return them to the oven to dry. Bake in preheated oven 175 °C 10-15 min. When cookies cold, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
