Fried Squid Simple Way

  • Since I am a squid lover, I always like to prepare them in the summer. This is one of many recipes that is the easiest and most economical, and Paolo loves them. It goes well with baked potatoes or potato salad, and you can add potatoes with Swiss chard, which is very healthy food. Follow the recipe.

Ingredients: very easy, total time 30 min., 2 persons
  • 500 g of squid, fresh and washed and cleaned

  • oil for frying

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 150 g smooth flour, 00

Preparation:
  1. Clean the inside of the carcass head and cartilage and rinse and drain well.

  2. Cut the cleaned squid into rings, pour them into a deeper bowl and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and mix them well.

  3. Pour a lot of oil into a deeper pan or if you have a fryer even better.

  4. Wait for it to heat up well. During which time mix all the squid rings into smooth flour or flour 00, on all sides and shake them well from the excess flour, then put them in hot oil to fry, turning them occasionally.

  5. When they are yellowish, take them out of the pan and put them on kitchen paper to absorb the excess oil. It all goes easier with the fryer, there is no turning, you just wait a few minutes and pull it out immediately.

  6. As a side dish, you can serve with boiled chard, boiled and baked potatoes, potato salad with onions, see the recipe here!

  7. Serve hot immediately.
