Corn Bread - Proja with Greaves, Cream, and Cheese

  • Fantastic and delicious homemade proja - corn bread with the addition of greaves, cheese and mature cream. It is easy to prepare and ready quickly! It is an ideal meal for breakfast or dinner. You can combine various spreads and additions of dried meat products. Follow recipe.

Ingredients: simple, total time: 35 min. 16 pieces
  • 150 g corn meal

  • 150 g flour

  • 5 g baking powder

  • 70 ml milk

  • 130 ml yogurt

  • 100 ml Olive oil EVO

  • 1 egg

  • 70 g greaves

  • 200 ml sour milk

  • 2 Tablespoons mature cream

  • 2 Tablespoon young cheese/ or feta cheese

  • 1.5 teaspoon salt

  • cumin for sprinkling/ or sesame

Preparation:
  1. Crush the crackers if they are large.

  2. If you work with feta cheese, grate it first.

  3. Combine all ingredients with a mixer in a deep container, until the mixture is compact and well combined.

  4. Oil the baking dish 20×30 cm and spread all the mixture and level.

  5. Sprinkle with cumin or sesame seeds.

  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30 minutes.

  7. When it is ready, cover it with a clean cloth, wait 20 minutes, cut the portions into cubes. Serve warm or cold.

NOTE:

  • Instead of greaves, if you don't have it, you can use smoked bacon or dry neck cut into small cubes.

  • Proja prepared in this way can stand covered for up to 5 to 6 days at room temperature.

  • You can also make muffins from this mixture, so you will have 12 pieces in total.
