Chicken medallions are a traditional dish originating from Serbia. Tasty and soft meat with the addition of cheese and ham and bacon. It's simple and quick to prepare. This dish is accompanied by salad, baked potatoes or French fries. Follow recipe.
Ingredients: simple, total time: 55 min. 4 serving
600 g chicken white meat/ or turkey meat
8-10 pieces bacon
140 g Trappist cheese/ or Edam cheese
4 big slices ham
salt and black pepper
dry spice/ Vegeta to taste
oil for frying
crushed hot pepper/ optional for sprinkle
wok pan
Preparation:
Cut the turkey white meat into four equal parts.
Beat each part and season with dry spice/ Vegeta, salt and black pepper.
Place 2–3 sticks of Trappist cheese and one ham leaf on each piece of turkey meat.
Close everything well, i.e., roll and wrap the sides with bacon. The size of the bacon depends on whether we will wrap the turkey medallion with two pieces or one.
In order for the medallions to keep their shape, we can fasten them with a toothpick.
When it's done, put it in the fridge for 1 hour.
Then bake the medallions in preheated oil over moderate heat for about 20 minutes with occasional turning, until brownish well. If you like hot, sprinkle with hot crushed pepper.
Serve warm on plate, you can sprinkle grated Trappist cheese over them. As side dish it can be fried potatoes, french fries or your choice anything else.
Buon appetito!
