There are several recipes for donuts, but I have to admit that I usually make them this way. Simply, quickly, without smearing the hands with the dough, and most importantly, they do not absorb fat at all, they are soft as a “soul”. I often prepare them, and most often for dinner. Follow recipe.
Ingredients:(DONUTS, MEKIKE, UŠTIPCI- FRiTTERS)
about 400 g of flour
1 whole egg
1/2 cube of fresh yeast — 20 g/ or 7 g dry yeast
100-200 ml lukewarm milk /or water
1–2 teaspoons of sugar
1–2 salts and
Plenty frying oil
Preparation:
In a large whisk, melt the yeast in 100 ml of lukewarm milk. Allow the yeast to ferment for 15 minutes.
In a deep bowl add the egg, sugar, salt, flour and with the addition of lukewarm milk and yeast, stir with a mixer (with the whipping-additive), for 7 minutes, until the dough thickens.
Cover the kneaded dough with a clean cloth and leave it in a warm place until it rises, about 30 min.
Take out the dough with an oiled spoon and fry in heated oil. (Pre-dip the spoon in the oil to make it easier to remove the dough with another spoon. Donuts grow quickly and are fried in a very short time).
You can eat these fritters both sweet and salty. If you have opted for sweet ones, then sprinkle them with powdered sugar or add jam or Nutella. Buon appetito!
